January 17th, 2022 by

If you’re in the market for a luxury SUV, there are many things you ought to consider, including price, fuel economy, technology, comfort, and safety. Fortunately, Lexus checks all these boxes and presents customers with a variety of options so that they can find the perfect match.

So, which is the best Lexus SUV you can buy? Our experts at Eskridge Lexus bring you this review.

Lexus UX

The Lexus UX is an entry-level model still relatively new to the lineup. Having been introduced back in 2019 to replace the CT hatchback, the Lexus UX has everything you need to suit your lifestyle and maneuver the chaos of the big city. While the UX model is smaller compared to its siblings, it looks and feels incredible on the road.

The UX comes in two trims: 200 and 250. The UX 200 has a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine that produces 168 horsepower, while the UX 250h has a self-charging 2.0-liter inline-4 delivering 168 horsepower.

The Lexus UX 250h version is undoubtedly the most fuel-efficient non-electric luxury SUV in the category, with a 39 combined mpg. Regardless of the version you go for between the two, you can seat up to five people and carry plenty of cargo when going for road trips out of the state.

Lexus NX

Even though it’s classified as a compact SUV, the Lexus NX is anything but small, and it comes with lots of luxury features. The SUV has a spacious cabin with luxurious interior features such as a Mark Levinson® audio system with a total of 14 speakers, perforated leather-trimmed upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, and a heated steering wheel.

The Lexus NX comes in seven trims:

  • NX 250: It has a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 203 horsepower. It also comes with an AWD version.
  • NX 350 AWD: It has a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 275 horsepower.
  • NX 350 F Sport Handling AWD: It has a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 275 horsepower.
  • NX 350h AWD: It has an electric drive 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 240 horsepower.
  • NX 450h+ AWD: It has a plug-in hybrid electric drive 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 240 horsepower.
  • NX 450h+ F Sport Handling AWD: It has a plug-in hybrid electric drive 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 240 horsepower.

The NX comes with a standard Lexus Safety System+ 2.0, which incorporates an All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian-Detection, Intelligent High Beams, among other features.

Lexus RX

When it comes to the sales department, the Lexus RX is both the best-selling mid-size SUV for Lexus and the entire U.S. This is attributed to the SUV’s various trims, configurations, and customization options. The L trims come with a third row which increases the seating capacity to seven, while the rest of the trims have a seating capacity of five.

The Lexus RX comes in 10 trims:

  • RX 350 AWD: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 295 horsepower.
  • RX 350 F Sport: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 295 horsepower.
  • RX 350 BLACK LINE SPECIAL EDITION: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 295 horsepower.
  • RX 350L: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower.
  • RX 350L BLACK LINE SPECIAL EDITION: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower.
  • RX 450h AWD: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 308 horsepower.
  • RX 450h F SPORT AWD: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 308 horsepower.
  • RX 450h AWD BLACK LINE SPECIAL EDITION: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower.
  • RX 450hL AWD: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 308 horsepower.
  • RX 450hL AWD BLACK LINE SPECIAL EDITION: It has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower.

Both the RX 350 and RX 450 models come with Multi-Zone climate control. One of the amazing features of the Lexus RX model is the striking front-end. With the size and stature of the RX, this spindle grille and LED headlights are perfect for a mean look on the roads.

The Black Line Edition adds more incredible features such as black exterior accents, 20-inch black alloy wheels, and a black and white F Sport interior. Even with all these features, you’ll also have enough cargo space and power to help you enjoy that occasional family trip and daily commute.

Lexus GX

If you’re looking for a luxury SUV that will help you drive off-road in style, consider the Lexus GX. Being one of the premier mid-size luxury SUVs in the U.S., the GX stands out in this lineup. The Lexus GX is highly refined with luxurious interior features and a quiet cabin, but its strength is its ability to head off-road effortlessly. It comes in three trims: the GX 460, the GX 460 Premium, and the GX 460 Luxury.

For your off-road package, you can also add Multi-Terrain Select, which comes with 5-Stage Crawl Control and allows you to change drive modes depending on the terrain. The Lexus GX is fitted with a 4.6 V-8 engine capable of producing 301 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque.

This SUV also comes with 8.1 inches of ground clearance, which rivals some trucks and other models in the ‘rugged’ SUV category. With such ground clearance, you can get past almost all the puddles on the road. If this isn’t enough, the Lexus GX has a seating capacity of seven and a towing capacity of 6,500 pounds.

Lexus LX

The Lexus LX has a seating capacity of eight, and it’s the brand’s only full-size SUV. While this SUV is mainly a family hauler, it doesn’t sacrifice any luxury features you expect from Lexus. The SUV comes with 21-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, a spacious cargo area, a 12.3-inch display, and a host of other incredible features.

The Lexus LX comes in two trims: the 570 Two-Row and the 570 Three-Row. Both trims have a 5.7-liter V-8 engine that delivers 383 horsepower. The LX has a towing capacity of 7,000 pounds, and it also comes with Lexus’ Full-Time FWD system, which means that the SUV can do just about anything and take you just about anywhere you want.
