Lexus RX350 Trim Levels
Shoppers searching for a luxury midsized SUV have plenty of choices to consider. But few can offer the combination of strong acceleration, comfortable seating, and ample cargo storage that the Lexus RX 350 provides.
Whether you choose its standard two-row configuration or a three-row model to boost your passenger capacity, you’ll be getting behind the wheel of a high-quality vehicle with many attractive upgrades on offer. Our Lexus experts here in Oklahoma City have put together a guide to the RX 350’s trim levels and what each of them has to offer.
Lexus RX 350 Overview and Trims

The Lexus RX 350 is a midsized crossover with an upscale interior and a capable powertrain. This Lexus model is available either as a two-row crossover with seating for five people or a three-row SUV that can seat six or seven people. The two-row version offers more cargo room at the rear, while the three-row model has just about enough space behind its rear row for a modest load of groceries.
The RX 350 operates with the same V-6 engine throughout its lineup of available trim options. This engine offers solid acceleration from a start and can swiftly shift the RX 350 up to highway speeds. This midsized crossover can tow up to 3,500 pounds, which is enough for a decent-sized camper or trailer.
There are three trims available with the RX 350: base, L, and F Sport. Each trim offers a unique combination of standard and optional features so you can tailor this vehicle to meet your needs.
Lexus RX 350 Base
Even in its base trim, the RX 350 boasts several features that give this vehicle a luxurious feel. It has synthetic leather upholstery, power adjustments for the front seats, a reclining second row, and automatic climate control. To make loading luggage or bags at the vehicle’s rear a breeze, you also get a power liftgate.
The infotainment system is equipped with an 8-inch touch screen and a nine-speaker premium stereo. You get a Wi-Fi hotspot to help you stay connected wherever you may be, six USB ports, and Bluetooth. Voice recognition is also included, allowing you to perform basic tasks such as adjusting the volume or climate control without taking your eyes off the road.
Driver safety tech in the standard setup includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. Another useful feature is adaptive cruise control, which can increase and reduce your speed on the highway when required. The traffic sign recognition technology gives you alerts about speed limits and other important driving rules you need to be aware of.
Several optional packages are also available with the base trim. For example, the Luxury Package gets you wood and aluminum interior trim, rear-seat sunshades, and genuine leather upholstery. You can also upgrade to a larger 12-inch infotainment screen, a navigation system, and a 15-speaker surround-sound stereo.
Lexus RX 350L
The RX 350L is the trim to go for if you’d like to have a third row of seats. The third row has a power-folding mechanism and is best suited for kids or adult passengers on short trips. Depending on how you configure the cabin, the RX 350L can seat six or seven people. It holds seven people if you stick with the bench seat in the second row, but it can only hold six if you opt for second-row captain’s chairs.
Other notable features in the RX 350L trim are reclining seats in the third row, an armrest for second-row passengers, and two USB ports in the second row. Upgrading to second-row captain’s chairs costs an additional $405.
Many of the same optional upgrades available in the base trim are also offered with the RX 350L. These upgrades include the larger infotainment screen, two stereo options, the navigation system, and heated and ventilated front seats.
Lexus RX 350 F Sport
As its name suggests, the RX 350’s top trim has a sportier appearance both on the inside and on the outside. In the cabin, you gain front sport seats, which provide extra support for when you’re navigating sharp corners or hitting the accelerator hard. You also gain an F Sport steering wheel and aluminum pedals to complete the sporty look.
You’ll also notice some exterior styling changes unique to the F Sport. An upgraded high-performance suspension helps improve your ride quality. You can get some optional add-ons with the Handling Package, including an additional F Sport driving mode, sport-tuned steering, and a heated steering wheel.
Which RX 350 Trim Should You Buy?
All three trims offer great performance and features, but they’re also aimed at slightly different groups of customers. The base trim is a great choice for anyone looking for a luxurious ride at a reasonable price. It contains many standard features and offers optional add-ons if you want to go really upscale. For example, you can swap out the synthetic leather for genuine leather seats or pick an even larger infotainment screen than the 8-inch standard display.
The RX 350L is a good option for those of you who need a little more space than the standard RX 350 can offer. Whether you need to carry kids in the third row or make use of the additional cargo storage space by folding down the two rear rows, the RX 350L is just right for you. Like the base trim, it has no shortage of luxurious features for you to enjoy.
The range-topping F Sport trim is sure to appeal to drivers who like to ride in a more stylish vehicle that catches other motorists’ attention. Its unique styling elements and upgraded steering and suspension help to ensure that you’ll be getting behind the wheel of a high-performance crossover.
