The Latest Lexus Concept Cars
A concept car is an experimental prototype vehicle that showcases innovative technology and designs. Creating concept cars allows automakers to create and test new ideas that may lead to breakthroughs in the automotive industry. They also allow consumers to imagine what may be possible in the future. These are the latest concept cars from Lexus that are on the cutting edge of automotive development.
Lexus Electrified Sport

In December 2021, Lexus unveiled an ultra-sporty electric concept car. While it doesn’t have an official name, Lexus refers to this innovative vehicle as the Electrified Sport. It builds on the legacy left behind with the Lexus LFA released in 2012. While the LFA’s exceptional performance came from a 553-hp V-10 engine, the Electrified Sport will use solid-state batteries to boost acceleration and cruising distance. Lexus claims it can go from zero to 60 mph in the “low two-second range” and will travel around 435 miles on a single charge.
Its impressive performance is matched by head-turning good looks. It has a sporty low-slung silhouette and a minimalist face, without the presence of the iconic Lexus spindle grille. The Lexus Electrified Sport concept is an important one for the automaker, which aims to transition to a lineup of exclusively electric vehicles by 2035. There are rumors that the Lexus Electrified Sport will enter production for the 2025 model year. However, you might want to start saving now as Car & Driver predicts it’ll cost upwards of $100,000.
Lexus LF-Z Electrified
In March 2021, Lexus premiered a new battery electric vehicle (BEV) called the LF-Z Electrified at its Lexus Concept Reveal Show. Lexus plans to introduce 20 new sustainable vehicle models, including BEVs, to its lineup by 2025. It’s the first vehicle utilizing DIRECT4, a new four-wheel driving force control technology that uses the instant response of the electric motor’s driving force to take control of the vehicle’s four wheels and adjust the driving mode for better, more flexible performance. Careful placement of its battery and electric motors optimizes the LF-Z Electrified’s dynamic balance and makes for a smoother, quieter ride.
The LF-Z Electrified has a clean, sculpted exterior and a unique open Tazuna cockpit. Its minimalist design is stylish and user-friendly. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology learns the behaviors and preferences of regular drivers to give them constant support as a “lifestyle concierge”. It might suggest driving routes or make restaurant reservations so you’ve got a table waiting when you reach your destination. The automaker hopes the interactions between drivers and AI will enhance journeys and the overall experience of owning a Lexus.
The LF-Z Electrified also works with a digital key. This allows friends and family members to use the vehicle without transferring physical keys. The retractable door handle only appears when someone with the digital key approaches. Digital sensors scan the environment for nearby traffic to make sure it’s safe before allowing the driver or passengers to alight from the vehicle. The digital key can also allow for unique services, such as package delivery to the car or car-sharing arrangements.
Lexus LF-30 Electrified
The Lexus LF-30 Electrified made a splash at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2019. Continuing Lexus’ modern focus on electric vehicle design, this BEV has four in-wheel electric motors and steering by wire, instead of a traditional mechanical connection through the steering shaft, for a more responsive driving experience. The motors have maximum outputs of 400 kW and 700 Nm. Lexus estimates these engines will help the Lexus LF-30 Electrified zoom from zero to 60 mph in just 3.66 seconds. Advanced Posture Control technology regulates the drive-power output from the electric motors to precisely adjust the vehicle posture in real time.
The Lexus LF-30 Electrified’s eye-popping design features a cool futuristic silhouette, striking wheels, and gull-wing doors. Lexus has adorned its modern interior with sustainable materials and cutting-edge technology, including noise-canceling headrest speakers that deliver a new way to soundtrack your commute. A large display screen controlled by gestures makes motoring fun for the front passengers, and the high-tech glass roof above the back seats features a SkyGate display window. Controllable by your voice or gestures, it can display navigation, entertaining videos, or even an ambient night sky.
Lexus harnesses AI technology to serve its customers better, and information stored on the driver’s control key helps customize the driving experience. It’ll set the climate control to your preferred temperature, put your favorite tunes on the stereo, plot optimal navigation routes, and even suggest what you should do once you arrive at your destination. You won’t just have your usual human passengers on board. The Lexus LF-30 also comes with a drone-technology support vehicle, dubbed the Lexus Airporter. This helpful gadget can perform useful tasks such as moving your bags from the doorstep to this cool concept car.
Lexus LF-1 Limitless
Introduced at the 2018 North American International Auto Show, many regard the Lexus LF-1 Limitless as Lexus’ most popular concept car that never made it to public production. As a stylish crossover vehicle that could suit virtually any powertrain, from traditional gas-powered engines to fuel cell technology, it has mass appeal. Lexus designed the minimalist cockpit to reduce driver distractions and make operation easy. There are touch-responsive haptic controls for the driver and passengers, including a touch-tracer pad in the center console and a rear controller so people in the back can manage their entertainment on the move.
The unique four-dimensional navigation system anticipates the needs of the car’s occupants. After considering factors such as traffic and road conditions, it suggests rest breaks, fuel stops, and restaurants for meal pit stops. On extended journeys, it’ll even offer to make hotel reservations for you. In Chauffeur mode, the LF-1 Limitless takes even greater control. You can let the vehicle take the reins with this hands-free technology.
