Our team of Lexus experts at Eskridge in Oklahoma City wants to tell you a little more about the high-performance line and introduce you to some of its most competitive vehicles.

What Is the Lexus High-Performance Line?

The Lexus high-performance line includes luxury carmakers’ high-powered sports cars, sedans, and coupes. Vehicles in the performance lineup feature powertrains and styling elements ready for the racetrack and handcrafted designs built from aluminum, titanium, and high-tensile steel.

The F and F Sport configurations are at the top of Lexus’ high-performance line. Named after the Fuji Speedway at the foot of Mount Fuji, where Lexus perfected its prowess on the racetrack, vehicles with the F and F Sport badges push the limits of what’s possible in a luxury car built for the road.

F models include Lexus’ most powerful engines, cutting-edge driver assistance technology, and expertly engineered suspension. The F models were developed following the remarkable success of the Lexus LFA on the racetrack. This speedster was in development for close to a decade before producing outstanding performances at some of the world’s most iconic racetracks.

Lexus continues to build race cars, such as the RC F GT3. The knowledge and design experience Lexus engineers gained on the track flows into the design and craftsmanship of its F models, destined to ensure a high-performance ride on highways and roads across the country.

Lexus RC F

The RC F is a race-ready sports coupe with a 5.0-liter V-8 engine that accelerates from zero to 60 mph in an incredible 4.2 seconds. Lexus has also fitted the RC F with six-piston brake calipers and carbon-ceramic brake pads for improved performance. Launch control, a speed-activated rear wing, and a limited-slip rear differential will benefit you.

The RC F’s Fuji Speedway Edition gives you access to all Lexus’s tools to ensure top-notch handling. One of its standout features is the torque vectoring differential, which shifts torque to the outside rear wheels to improve cornering at high speeds. You also benefit from a carbon-fiber roof, which provides improved aerodynamics.

Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance

The Lexus IS 500 F is a compact luxury sedan with a potent 5.0-liter V-8 engine under the hood. This unit churns out 472 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque, which propels this machine from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The IS 500 also features adaptive shock absorbers, quad exhaust pipes, and a limited-slip differential. The powertrain pairs with an eight-speed automatic and a rear-wheel-drive setup.

This raw power comes with an interior design that oozes luxury. From leather seats with power adjustments up front to an extensive selection of infotainment features, you’ll enjoy a comfortable ride with your passengers as you show off what this Lexus can do.

Two upgraded versions of the IS 500 are available. The IS 500 F Sport Performance Premium adds a larger infotainment touchscreen, a surround-view parking camera, and a navigation system. The IS 500 F Sport Performance Limited Edition is an exclusive vehicle with just 500 models across North America. It features synthetic suede upholstery and matte black wheels.

Lexus LC 500

As Lexus’ flagship sports car, the LC 500 is a key part of its performance lineup. The same 5.0-liter V-8 engine that powers the IS delivers the horsepower to speed this coupe off the line. In its coupe and convertible versions, the LC 500 achieves 471 horsepower and can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. A 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive complete the powertrain. The adaptive suspension ensures a smooth ride at high speeds, while the sports exhaust helps the V-8 hit a delicious note as it revs up to top speed.

Inside the cabin, the LC 500 features genuine leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a glass roof. There are two second-row seats, but they’re best used for storage, as they’re quite small. The infotainment system includes a 10.3-inch display, a 12-speaker stereo, and various connectivity options. The optional Dynamic Handling upgrade adds rear-wheel steering, a limited-slip differential, performance dampers, and 21-inch wheels.

Other Lexus F Sport Models

The Lexus high-performance F sport badge appears throughout its vehicle lineup, including in its range of SUVs. For example, the Lexus NX, a compact five-seater crossover, offers the 350 F Sport trim. The NX 350 F Sport gets its power from a 275-horsepower four-cylinder engine, and it also features front sports seats with added supports, adaptive suspension, and 20-inch wheels. On the exterior, the NX 350 F Sport has a uniquely styled bumper and grille that set it apart from the more comfort-oriented trims.

As you can see, there’s no shortage of options if you’re looking for a high-powered Lexus coupe, sedan, or convertible.
