Riversport Adventure Park

If you’re searching for a family adventure, look no further. Book your tickets to the Riversport Adventure Park, an incredible venue with water features, zip lines, a bike park, and a six-story adventure course. If you’re looking for a way to cool off, try out surfing, indoor skiing, whitewater rafting, whitewater kayaking, or tubing. Those looking for more leisurely water activities might enjoy flatwater kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding. You can also check out the SandRidge Sky Trail, an 80-foot-tall adventure course with rope bridges, balance beams, zip lines, and even a free-fall drop option.

National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum

Visiting a museum is a fantastic family activity, and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is one of the best around. Founded in 1955, this museum exhibits artifacts connected to the legacy of the American West. One of the current exhibitions, Express Mail, features letters, postcards, and holiday cards to and from artists, and it will run through July 24, 2022. The Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition and Sale runs June 2 through Aug. 7, 2022, and features paintings and sculptures that depict the American West through both a historical and a modern lens.

The museum is located at 1700 NE 63rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73111. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. OKC Zoo

Come to the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden this summer for a magical day of animal fun. Visit your favorite animal or explore the incredible attractions the OKC Zoo has to offer. These include camel rides, giraffe and rhino feedings, sea lion presentations, the stingray bay, a safari cart tour, and the elephant express train for park travel. Kids will love taking a ride on the endangered species carousel, and parents might enjoy learning about the zoo’s conservation work.

General admission tickets are priced at $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 3-11, and $9 for seniors aged 65 or above. Children under the age of 2 can visit for free. The Orr Family Farm is a beautiful campground and activity fair. Wheeler Ferris Wheel

Located in the Wheeler District of Oklahoma City, the Wheeler Ferris Wheel was originally created for the Santa Monica Pier. Today, it is a classic landmark and destination for tourists and OKC locals alike. Enjoy a view of the city skyline and snap a family picture at the top to memorialize the occasion. You can also plan your visit to coincide with events around the Ferris wheel, like pop-up shops and the cycling festival.

The Ferris wheel is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays. You can purchase a single-ride ticket for $6. Children ages 3 and under ride for free. Any children under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by an adult for safety purposes.
